Great spot for a short stay in a magnificent city

It was great to stay in a little part of the past. The kitchen house had all that a couple could ask for and was a short walk from everything. Thank you to the Middletons for sharing such an interesting and beautiful part of our Nation's history with the rest of us!

This was a perfect spot for our weekend Charleston getaway! The location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore downtown Charleston on foot, and the parking accomodations were a huge plus! We have always been captivated by the rich history of Charleston and this cozy cottage was a great way to experience it first hand. The owners have done a great job of preserving the history, while bringing you modern comforts with their personal touches. We were a little concerned that due to its historical nature the extreme heat might be a factor but we were pleasantly suprised at how cool the cottage stayed. The hospitality of Philip and Judy was charming and helped to make this an absolutely lovely trip for us!

The Middleton’s were very receptive and relational. The location was perfect for walking to all the areas we wanted to visit. The history of the location and its ambiance was delightful. It was perfect for our stay

Lovely location, quaint historic home.

You are in the middle of the historic district of Charleston. Close enough to walk to most everything, including Aquarium, restaurants, shopping, parks. Small but quaint setting from 1730's. Not all the creature comforts you may be used to and small, but still fine for a couple.

Great location to explore historic Charleston. Note - bedroom is on 2nd floor of historic dependency and could be challenging for some - but great opportunity to stay in former 1700 era kitchen with a perfect Charleston location - with parking! Hosts could not be nicer!

This property could not have been better if you are planning a visit to downtown. Perfect location. This property was great for 2 people. We enjoyed our 3 1/2 days very much. We did rent a car and drove around a lot taking in all the beautiful sights. I would highly recommend this house.

Historic renovated kitchen house with a lot of charm. Courtyard is wonderful with shade and fountain. Great place to read or have breakfast or a drink. Hosts were great, similar to a B n B with muffins, fruit in your room. Location is superb.

Definitely a must if you are looking for a unique stay in this charming town. Amazing location.

What a beautiful place to stay and what gracious hosts.

Perfect location and cozy, historic setting.

Like staying in a small English cottage in a perfect location in Charleston for walking to everything. Would have given it 5 stars but the narrow and steep circular staircase for inside access to the second floor is tricky but we knew this already from pics and other reviews. Bathroom shower could also use some upgrading but appreciated the size of the bathroom.

We had a lovely visit in beautiful Charleston. Phillip and Judy were gracious hosts. We truly enjoyed the historic nature of the property and the location close to everything. If walls could talk!! We will be back!

This was the perfect location for our time in Charleston. Loved the historic location and feel - away from the noise and crowds but close enough to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The cottage was exactly as described and pictured. Judy and Phillip are such gracious hosts. We appreciated the breakfast goodies and bottle of wine. The courtyard was a beautiful, relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon sun. We hope to be able to visit and stay here again soon!

We had a wonderful stay. Location is perfect, right downtown in a quiet area. The kitchen house was great, plenty of space for just the two of us. Judy left extras for us, fruit-muffins-cereal. Very thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again!

A well maintained and clean old building. The house smelled of varnish/oil paint. Not for physically challenged people, a very small spiral staircase to access the bedroom and only bath upstairs. It's Charleston, and it's beautiful even in cool weather.

This was our first trip to Charleston and this location was perfect to get to all the main areas. Judy welcomed us and stocked the fridge with milk and juice and had bananas and muffins. Highly recommend!

Wonderful hosts. Judy and Phillip are genteel Charlestonians, who love their property and take pride in its historical significance. They were very gracious, and accommodating providing wine, muffins and other beverages to help make us feel welcome. Their property is unique and special in the heart of the beautiful historic district of Charleston. It was the perfect location with perfect hosts.

It was the perfect location. The courtyard and cottage were charming. The fireplace was so nice on those cold nights. We were so appreciative of food and drinks they supplied

Within walking distance to everything you’ll want to see in historic Charleston! Had everything we needed and checkin and out process was very easy!

Perfect location and able to walk everywhere. Beautiful, historic home that was a quiet respite at the end of a long, fun day. The Middletons were very welcoming and incredibly sweet.

Property and location in a great historic neighborhood. Parking was provided and was easy. Building is the smaller of the two available. Very historic and cool from that perspective. Some is very charming but lots could use an update, looks like most hasn’t been touched up in years. Location was awesome.

It was an amazing stay in the bed and breakfast! Everything in downtown is walking distance and Phillip and Judy were wonderfully accommodating. Would highly recommended !

We have been venturing to Charleston for 30 years, stayed at many different places in the historic district, and in short this is the best, great host’s, great quiet historic location, lovely garden to sit outside, and beautiful properties to stay at

Easy, Easy, East

Perfect location in Charleston! Walk to all you would want or need and Phillip and Judy were so easy to work with. The little house was adorable and had everything we needed. Note that the stairwell is tight but a wide straight staircase is easily available.

This charming cottage is a wonderful slice of history! Located in the historic district, it is within walking distance to museums, shops, restaurants, landmarks and the waterfront. We enjoyed so much in our short stay and look forward to returning to Charleston to enjoy its beauty and rich history. Philip, Judy and their family were wonderful hosts! They definitely go out of the way to make sure you feel welcomed! The bottle of wine was an extra special touch!
