Clean and quaint little cottage.

Our stay here was just what we needed. A quick walk to the beach and great accommodations for our dogs. Owners were quick to respond to questions. Thanks for the great memories.

We had spent a winter on 30A in Blue Mountain in 2018. Took a trip to Apalachicola and drove thru Mexico Beach and St. Joe Beach. My husband made the comment that if we ever came to Florida again, this is where we would stay. Back in Wisconsin we watched in horror as Hurricane Michael destroyed the area. Early this year we were feeling the need for a beach vacation, so we checked this area again and were happy to see that it was coming back to life. We have spent the entire month of October in The Banana Cabana and we both agree that it has been one of our favorite vacations. The Banana is the quintessential beach cottage. It is not a carbon copy of the new, indistinguisable from one another, beach homes that permeate the area since the hurricane. Banana is loaded with charm and every possible convenience. We were able to prepare full meals without issue. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms modern and beautiful. There is also a cute little loft with 2 twin beds. There are 2 screened porches with comfortable furniture. One even has a porch swing! The porches became an extension of the living space. The yard is fenced and our pup spent many hours hunting geckos. There are beach chairs and a beach wagon to haul everything to the beach which is a very short walk away. We saw dolphins, pelicans and ghost crabs. There was a fenced in area where turtle eggs waited to hatch. The neighbors to the Banana were extremely friendly and helpful. Speaking of helpful, Lynn the lucky owner of the Banana, was easily accessible. One WEEKEND we noticed that there didn't seem to be any hot water. We called Lynn at about 10 in the morning, and there was a new water heater installed by mid afternoon. It will be difficult to leave here tomorrow morning but we have next year to look forward to. We've already reserved the Banana Cabana for next October.

Very clean and nice beach house in close proximity to the beach! Very easy walk. We loved the fenced in yard for our pets and the beach cart with large wheels was great. Close drive to restaurants and stores. The house had everything we could have needed. (The only thing I can think of that could have been useful would be a vacuum— Just to make sure we didn’t leave dog hair behind). The owners were great to work with and promptly responded to messages. Also met some very nice neighbors! We had a great time and hope to return! We will recommend to our friends. Thank you!

We loved this house and can't wait to stay there again. It was the perfect size for two people or a small family and the fenced yard was great for our dogs. It is on a very quiet street 1 row back from the main road and a super easy walk right to the beach access. The beach is beautiful and not crowded at all. We loved taking the dogs for a long beach walk every morning . If you like laid back beach life you can't beat the Banana Cabana!

Everything was great......only problem was tv and internet was unavailable for several days.

Property was in a quiet area near the beach. The beach was visible from the property and easy access to the beach,. The cottage was very clean and as advertised. The property manager was easy to work with. I loved the 2 screened-in porches in early morning and liked the fenced-in yard for our 2 dogs.

The inside of the cottage was covered with black dog hair. One of the showers had mildew along the floor by the door. Even though I swept the floors every day I could not get all of the dog hair out of the cottage. We’ve been staying in this area for the past 10 years in February and March and this is by far the worst place we’ve ever stayed. We will not be back.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the "banana cabana'" . This was our first visit in the pan handle and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The home was clean l, well equipped., and decorated with an old Florida vibe. Check in was easy. We loved exploring the area. The beaches were beautiful and only a short walk from the house. Plenty to see and do in the pan handle. Thanks Lynn and Shep. We had a great time.

Great property - one block off the beach. You can even hear the waves when you are sitting on the porch.

Had a great stay! Couldn’t ask for better weather. It was prefect size for me and my mom. I liked the location as well. I would rent again.

Everything was handled very smoothly, will use vrbo again for vacation rental.

Other than the TV service everything was good.

Clean & Very easy walk to beach

This was our first trip to Port St. Joe and it was great! The house was perfect. It was clean and so cute! The host was quick to answer any questions. I loved the fenced-in yard for the dogs! We will be back!!

This house is everything promised and more. My boyfriend and I had such an amazing time on our vacation, and were just as happy to spend time in the house as we were on the beach due to how cute and relaxing it is! This is definitely the place to stay, and the walk to the beach is super quick and easy! It’s also a more remote part of the beach, so you can get away from the slight crowds further up the way. Wonderful place to stay, hope to visit again in the future!

We had a wonderful time. The house was decorated beach style. It had all the essentials we needed. Even had beach chairs, which was nice, because chairs take up a lot of space when you're traveling. The two screened in porches was a plus. Lovely place!

Awesome property! Super clean and well stocked. Owner was quick to respond. This was our first trip to Port St Joe beach. So quiet and not crowded. There is construction as previously mentioned in reviews but it didn’t affect our stay!! We were at the beach most of the day and the workers were nice and respectful of other properties. Great area and cottage for pets! Our Shitzu was not a beach fan but did love the air conditioned cottage! Would love to stay here again.

We will be back soon! The house was the perfect size for the 2 of us and our pup! Had the timing of our trip be slightly different, our college age son would have been with us and the space would still have been enough! I even had enough room in the living area for my yoga practice. The house was clean. The linens were fresh. Although we did not cook many meals, the utensils were abundant...including an ice cream scoop and ice packs in the freezer! There were even spices in the cabinet.The fenced yard was ideal for our puppy girl and she loved having the ability to roam as well as sniff along the fence line! The beach cart came in handy for carrying beach gear the short walk across the street to our spot! Thankful for the chairs that we found in the shed! We left an umbrella for the next family to use!!The only bad part about our time was leaving. We are actually already planning another trip back!Our favorite place to eat was in downtown Port St Joe at KrazyFish! Thank you Lynn & Shep for inviting us to stay! We had a wonderful time!

Fantastic amenities in a charming bungalow. Very close to beach. Rain showers in each spotless , updated bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher. Wonderful screened porches. Sleeping arrangements very comfortable. Huge plus was a full sized washing machine & dryer in separate shed. Works very well for a long term stay. Definitely would stay again. Be aware that there is construction ongoing in Mexico Beach, as well as in fairly close proximity to the bungalow; due to Hurricane Michael. It didn't bother us, however.

We enjoyed our stay at the Banana Cabana. The inside was very clean and comfortable. It was a great place for a small family to enjoy Mexico Beach. There was a short walk down the road to get to the beach. We gave it 4 stars because the view from the porch was a construction dumpster, but we understand there are several renovations and rebuilding projects in the area since the hurricane.

Very enjoyable. House was stocked with anything you would need. Txt the owner a few times with questions and she responded to me quickly and was a delightful lady to talk with. My friend and I are elderly so we mostly just sat around the cute little house and looked at the ocean. Will definitely rent this house again if we get to make the trip again.
