About this cottage rental
Nestled in Pennsylvania, this attractive cottage for $315 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. COVID19 UPDATE: Fox Haven Cottage has always bleach cleaned linens, in addition to cleaning surfaces, the kitchen and bathrooms are disinfected with bleach and disinfectant solutions. Disinfectant sprays are used on pillow encasements, upholstery, rugs, door knobs, handles, pulls, remotes, and switches. While these practices will continue, our cleaning company for their protection and the protection of guests will wear a mask, footies, and gloves along with a fresh apron while cleaning. We no longer taking back to back bookings and require 24 hour respite between property bookings. Earlier arrival means more time to enjoy at no extra cost! Guest booked with 24 hour respite can arrive at 12pm and depart at 12pm. We are doing our part to keep our guests safe, and want to remind those booking that they are expected to follow all state restrictions and guidelines while in Pennsylvania and upon returning home. Should government shut downs restrict current guests from vacation stays in PA, as hosts we will honor the restriction by rescheduling the stay or providing a refund to guests. FOX HAVEN COTTAGE: Enjoy the seasons in Laurel Highlands at Fox Haven Cottage! Fox Haven cottage sits on 1.6 acres of grand Hemlock-wooded land and is surrounded by protected nature reserve. The McCullen Run stream is home to native trout and runs through the property creating a natural walking path along its bank. The charming storybook cottage is quaint on the outside with a flagstone path, patio and fire pit, and spacious on the inside comfortably sleeping 10 on beds. The cottage was renovated in 2016 clad with rustic crisp white shiplap and stained pine-board. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cook-top with oven, remote controlled range hood, disposal, heated floors, wine chiller, and whole house water purification. The reading room has chairs for lounging with adjustable swing arm lamps. The Living room has an activity table for board games and puzzles, a 50” smart TV (wifi capable), and working fireplace. Every window has views of the natural surroundings. The large roof deck provides stunning elevated views of the mountain side property, stream, and starry night sky. This lovely spot is the definition of quaint and cozy. The house is secluded, well-appointed, and next to an actual babbling brook! We thoroughly enjoyed the well-designed fire pit, and the floor plan is thoughtfully configured for gathering. The beds and furniture were very comfortable, and I appreciated the efforts to preserve the historical integrity of the house while still inlcuding modern comforts. One note: the house was rife with those plug in air freshners, and the linens were washed in a scented detergent. Several members of our party are sensitive to synthetic fragrances, which was the only real downside to our otherwise wonderful stay! This is certanily not a reason to avoid Fox Haven, but just a note for the owners that the fragrances were a bit overpowering.

We really loved everything about our weekend stay at Fox Haven Cottage. We are four friends who like to plan "Girls Weekends" away, especially this time of year. (We are mom friends and our kids are also friends). The cottage is adorable and we loved all the decor and the special touches inside and out. What a beautiful setting along the stream and in the woods. The cottage is comfortable and spacious with enough room for each of us to have our own bedroom. And then 2 bathrooms (in addition to the cute little powder room) worked out perfectly. Even sleeping in the "kids room" on a twin bed was cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed a campfire, relaxing with our morning coffee, hiking in Linn Run State Park around Adams Falls, shopping in Ligonier, cooking in, movie night, and The Pie Shoppe. Thank you, we had so much fun this weekend.

Beautiful cabin in Laughlintown. Close to Idlewild, Ligonier, etc. Cabin is clean and perfect for families who want a nice getaway together.
Kids had a blast wading in the stream and hanging at the firepit. Would recommend staying here.

This property is as lovely as pictured, and well supplied with all the essentials and more. The creekside location is tranquil and can be enjoyed from the large picture windows in the house or relaxing on upper deck or lower stone patio. Nearby state parks and preserves provide some nice hiking trails, and nearby Ligonier for food, shopping, Fort Ligonier, and ice cream. Really enjoyed our visit!

Myself and a few girlfriends stayed for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful cabin. The owners have done an outstanding job in restoring the house, as well as, the surrounding property!! It is so serene outside listening to the babbling brook while having our coffee. It was meticulously decorated and clean beyond belief. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Same for the bedrooms and bathrooms. They did a great job of thinking of everything for us. We all had a fabulous time exploring the town and enjoyed eating and shopping while there. My husband and I booked a weekend in may and I can't wait to show it to him. Do not hesitate to rent this amazing cabin in paradise....you won't regret it!!

This was a great house to have a relaxing get away with friends for my bff’s bachelorette weekend! Super comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful setting. It would have been helpful if there were sponges for doing dishes, as that’s not really something I think to pack, and while we were prepared based on the info that there were no basic cooking supplies (spices, oil, etc) I think that would be a boon to the property.

This was our second time at Fox Haven and it was as wonderful as the first. The kids spent the weekend exploring the surrounding area, splashing in the creek, while the adults enjoyed the massive fire pit with a never ending supply of wood. The inside is just as comfortable - perfect for cuddling up to a fire for a movie night!

Our group of 6 enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous cottage so much that we would like to make it a yearly destination. All of us would like to visit here for each season. The location is serene and lovely, and wonderful windows in the cottage allow you to enjoy all the natural beauty of the woods. The cottage is comfortable, well designed with great bedrooms and bathrooms, and a well equipped kitchen. The hosts are easy to communicate with and very helpful. As soon as we opened the door to the cottage we were charmed. We can't wait to come back.

This was a great place for a relaxing getaway with an outdoor patio and fire pit right up alongside a pleasant stream. The indoor space was very clean and well equipped with everything I needed to prep dinner and plenty of windows to take in the outside scenery. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

This is a lovely cabin located on a wooded property with a beautiful stream. The cabin is very clean, comfortable and well stocked in terms of bedding, dishes, etc.
Please be advised that if you are traveling, for example, with small children, the elderly, or disabled individuals the cabin is heavily decorated in general and seasonally and that there are lots of fragile knick-knacks and displays along all walls and surfaces. It’s easy to accidentally break an item and incur a damage charge. Damage insurance is recommended and we hope ours will reimburse us for the objects we did break, a decorative wall plate and an outdoor plastic chair.
Renters are asked to inspect the home upon arrival and to sign a document that states everything was found in order. Since items such as pillows and placements are counted by the cleaning company post-departure to ensure nothing was stolen or destroyed, I suggest that a complete inventory list should be made available to renters, so that they can be sure that all items are present upon arrival. Again, charges will be incurred if the cleaning company reports anything missing. Our family was charged $20 to replace two placemats although we did not use placemats during our stay.
This cabin is fantastic for adult travelers who are very clean and careful. If you are like our group, staying with four disabled children, you are likely going to find it difficult to leave the cabin at a level of cleanliness and orderliness – even when completing all steps required for check out – that will not lead to additional charges.

We needed a place to stay for my daughters wedding in the area, and we could not have found a more perfect place! The house was absolutely beautiful, every detail thought of, and every room was like walking into a decor magazine. Everyone slept very well, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the house provided everything we needed. The most striking part of the house, to me, was the huge dining room table, and the view from that room and the kitchen, of the nature and creek right outside the windows. We absolutely hope to return….thank you so much for providing such a wonderful home away from home.

This is such a beautiful setting, the cottage is alwasy clean, and well equipped with everything you need. Our family enjoys the peaceful setting and outdoor space to relax. And plenty of space indoors as well. It is so nice to sit at the large dining table to eat, or play games, or just visit.

Check in was self explanatory, as was check out. All the convenience’s of home, tastefully decorated, plenty of spaces to be alone or to gather as family. The grandkids loved the stream passing by the house with wading, gathering rocks and connecting with nature. Centrally located to tour two FLW house’s, Flight 93 Memorial, and historic sites.
