We enjoyed the place, well furnished and supplied, we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is convenient for dining and shopping. The garden was clean and well kept, also its spacious inside and out. I would rent it again when staying for an extended trip. The host was pleasant and very interested in our comfort, communication was excellent with her, a pleasant stay overall.

Check in instructions were very clear and the place was easy to find as well as get into, which helped since we were not used to this style of building. The place itself was clean, quiet, within walking distance of plenty of things to do, as well as easy access to the subway. Roberta was very responsive and attentive. I would absolutely stay here again!

Whilst a little old, the apartment worked for us and the owner left lots of great tips. The second bedroom is OK for 1 adult.

Spent MLK weekend in this apartment and there were so many good things about this place but there were just a few bad things that spoiled it.
First the good... the space was great - two small bedrooms made it the perfect size. The kitchen had everything you needed and was very clean. The bathroom dated but fun and also very clean. Low tub made it easy entrance and exit to shower. The security was good on the building - four doors to get out - two with codes. Great for feeling safe, a bit clumsy when carrying coffees or luggage. You can prop the doors open but that kinda defeats the security. Anyway, nothing major. Location was great - convenient for food, for the east side of the city or transfer at Hearld Sq to the west side. So all in all - great location.
The bad - which given its January was a problem.. it was cold. Yes, there were space heaters but they didn't offset the coldness of the windows and the floor. The back bedroom was very chilly - we had three blankets which was really necessary. The radiator in the room was stone cold. Not sure if that was as it should have been or not. But when we got home last night we all piled on sweatshirts and socks and blankets.
So while I loved this place - I don't know that a snowy January weekend would be a repeat. I think Spring/Summer/Fall when you could enjoy the outdoor patio which looked awesome would be great.

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The location was perfect to explore Manhattan. Its was easy walking distance to Empire State, Times Square & Rockefeller Centre. The subway was also only a short stroll from the apartment.
The apartment was very comfortable for our family of four. It was amazingly quiet and also very secure.

Overall, the apartment was very quiet and a great location to stay, close to subway and several restaurants and convenient stores. However, the bed was listed as "queen" size but was actually only a "full" size bed. (We measured it, and a queen should be 60X80, but this bed was 54X75, which made sleeping tight and my feet hung off the end with head touching the headboard, which they don't do on a proper queen bed, as I am 77 inches tall.) The small bed was why I lowered the review, because I specifically searched for a queen size bed and don't like being misled.
The radiator next to the bed hissed a lot during the night, which kept me awake but didn't bother my wife. Other than that, there was almost zero outside noise in the apartment, which was surprising for Manhattan.
Entry and exit was very convenient with touchpads rather than keys.
I would suggest that the owner make a sweep through the apartment for lights that don't work, loose fixtures, and similar small maintenance items, because we noticed several nonworking lights and loose handles, etc.
I would definitely rent this apartment again if travelling without my wife, but unless it is upgraded to a queen, the bed size wouldn't permit us to travel together to this apartment.

We would happily stay in this apartment again! We travelled with our 10 yr old daughter and it was great that she had a small room of her own. Kitchen and bath nicely appointed. The coffee maker is not a common one, so if you need coffee when we first wake up, be sure to read the instructions that are provided right next to the maker. Ample space and everything you need is in walking distance. Owners have provided very detailed instructions for getting into the unit, so be sure to read and re-read them prior to your arrival, as the keypads and entryway is a bit clunky the first time through.

Highly recommend
This is a very cozy home to stay in. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and amenities provided at this home. Roberta was very prompt and attentive in answering any questions we had about the home and area.
It was very easy to get around to wherever you wanted to go in the city. If you don't know how to use the subways in the city, it is quite easy to learn and is to your advantage. Especially staying at this home.
The neighborhood is quiet with normal road noise. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from that are all very near. There is a Target and Trader Joe's close by for any grocery needs.
The home itself is spacious enough for 4 people, no more, in my opinion. My wife and I slept in the master bedroom and the queen size bed was not the most comfortable. Coming from a king size in my home, it's hard to get used to a smaller size. My sister slept in the front room and she reported the bed to be fine. The kitchen had everything you need for making breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are plenty of pots and pans of you wish to do so.
We definitely recommend this home if you are planning on staying in NYC!
Thanks Tom and Roberta, it was a pleasure staying here!

We hope to stay here again!
Just left the apartment. We were pleasantly surprised. It is even more comfortable and cozy then the pictures make it look. It is large by New York standards. And the outdoor space is almost as large as the indoor space, and has two seating areas. We felt very safe the whole time. The towels are luxurious. And the decorations are homey. It was a great location, and very walkable around us. I block to the right as you exit the apartment is Little India. And there are tie food places to eat as well. It is a 45 minute walk to Times Square. Or you can take a taxi or Uber very easily. The water taste fabulous, and they have a filtered picture in the refrigerator. All you need to bring is conditioner, and Kleenex, and you are set! We hope to stay here again next time we come to New York!

Fab location close to subway and bus routes
Would definitely stay here again, close to transport links, useful info regarding travel and shopping etc, didn’t really use the apartment for anything other than sleeping but plenty amenities in the kitchen if you wanted to cook (we ate out). Thanks for having us!

The Cave
I book my condos/apartments and houses based 75% on reviews. After reading the reviews I felt comfortable with this apartment.
I am disappointed. Several things happened after arrival. Not including the smell of mildew in the hallway, bathroom and larger bedroom we were dealt with the following:
The owner Tom throwing recycling down the stairs at 11:00 pm. Nervously I went out of the apartment to address the issue. He indicated he has a bad leg and didn’t know anyone was in the apartment. After this he continued to throw several more bags. After that stopped dragging and scraping of chairs started on the floor above us. I messaged Roberta before addressing the issue but did not hear back. The apartment was very drafty and I sent another message to ask how to turn on some heat. No response again. On our last night at 12:00 pm more dragging and scraping of chairs kept us awake. And at 2:00 am a large banging started in the pipes in the larger bedroom. When we turned on the lights we discovered it was coming from a pipe on the wall. When I touched the pipe it was hot. So I am assuming the heat issue was being addressed at this time, two days later.
The apartment is very dark and in need of a deep clean. And not surface cleaning.

Perfect location, great apartment
We loved our stay at this lower level brownstone apartment. We were 5 blocks from the Empire State Building and Hop On bus stop. There was a wonderful variety of delicious restaurants within a few blocks as well as a grocery store. The apartment was nice and clean. The bedrooms were small but enough room to sleep in. The kitchen had everything we needed. The living dining area was more spacious and it had a nice sized bathroom. Would definitely stay here again if we return to NYC.

Great Location and 4 night Stay
All communication with Roberta was answered quickly, both before and during the stay. She is an excellent host.
We were able to drop off our luggage early and then started visiting the city. There is a subway station very close by and multiple things to do within walking distance. Walked down to the Empire State Building early morning, (0830) since it was so close and got right in! No line or crowds!
Stores for groceries were handy and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We had no trouble with the doors, got through all in time, even when hauling luggage in and out. Felt secure and safe in the apartment and the neighborhood. Had no issues with internet or cell phone.
Would stay here again and highly recommend the apartment.

Short walk to the subway! Very New York quaint!

Great property and location
This location was ideal for our long weekend stay. We loved the access to the outdoor patio, the semi-quiet street and the keyless access; that made things so easy and convenient. Roberta was always prompt with her responses a real pleasure to work with.
The apartment was nice and clean - plenty of towels and well appointed. Because it's a first floor unit and towards the back of the building, we had to turn on the lights during the day.
Overall it was a great place and I would stay there again!

Great location and space for 3 adults
We just wrapped up a 3 night girls weekend. The location and apartment was very good, clean, convenient neighborhood. There were 3 of us and each person had their own space; one double bed, one single bed and one couch (similar to the size of a single bed). It is a ground level unit with 3 security doors before entering the apartment. There are no need for keys since everything was key pad controlled. Overall this worked really well for us. The only downside from my point of view was that the internet connection and cell service was not very good. I could not connect my macbook at all and my mobile device could only get 2 bars. As soon as I left the apartment I was fine. Thank you!

Great Place
Fantastic. The only issue we had was with the wifi - which was terrible - but we did not call them so it could have more than likely have been fixed. Other than that a great place.

Excellent quiet location , yet close to action
Clean and a lot of towels , dishes and utensils. Nice back porch. Annoyed by the fact that you have to buzz in 4 different doors to get access

clean and quiet NYC
Owner responded to all questions, easy check in, clean kitchen and bath, cool and quiet to sleep (summer in NYC!), and great location to walk first stop was Flat Iron Bldg. Great book to read all about NY on table in LR, and easy check out. Great 3 days.

Perfect for our family
The two bedroom unit was perfect for our family of four. The main bedroom is separate from the living area and second bedroom. We had a couch sleeper and he never heard us get our coffee in the morning. The unit itself was nestled in a quiet neighborhood called Little India and was close to the 6 subway. Would recommend this property to anyone who does not want to be in the heart of the action.
