About this house rental

Completed in 1992, this two bedroom two bath home was designed by a local architect for the relaxed Key West tropical lifestyle. Located on a quiet old town street only one block from Upper Duval Street and Truman Avenue, it offers off-street parking, easy walking/biking to Key West’s finest dining, shopping, attractions, and the beach at Fort Taylor State Park. The one and a half story living space has nine french doors opening onto a private courtyard with a solar-heated pool and spa. High ceilings with multiple skylights, pickled pine wooden walls, casual furniture and the colorful hues of the Caribbean create a space that is both soothing and stimulating. Both bedrooms have tile floors and double french doors opening onto the courtyard and reflect the island's maritime influence with built-in furniture and storage areas. Besides the spectacular indoor shower, there is a small private deck with an outdoor shower for the truly native experience. The site plan is similar to a courtyard home. The bedrooms are in a separate building from the living space. The pool and spa are totally private and you share no space with anyone. Maximum accommodation is six persons. There is a king size bed in the Master bedroom, a queen size bed in the second bedroom and queen sofa bed in the living area. The living room and bedrooms have smart tvs. Payments, less credit card costs, are fully refundable with 30 days notice prior to day of scheduled check-in. Payments within 30 days are non-refundable, however, if you cancel your reservation within the 30-day period, you will receive a credit that can be applied to another stay within one year of the original reservation. Property was in a perfect location. Very much enjoyed our stay. The property does need some TLC. Blinds broken, bed linen and mattresses need to be updated. We only stayed 3 nights so wasn’t a huge issue. Living area was in good shape. Issues with the hot tub but owner tried his best to help us. Wasn’t an issue either bc we didn’t have much time to spend in the hot tub/pool. Owner and cleaning service was very easy to communicate with! Very prompt !! Would stay there again !

Place definitely needs work, missing blind slates on doors and windows. My sisters hung up sheets to because the lack of privacy made them nervous. Only used the pool once, directions were confusing. Owner is trying to get me for a broken table nearly a month after we stayed there, when others came in the night we left. And I am sure more besides that! Nice that it has the space for all of us and good location, but a little money in this place would go a long way.

The cottage is in an ideal location for walking to restaurants and attractions. We loved the pool and spa! The only things I would have liked to be better were the water pressure in the kitchen sink and more comfortable seating in the living room. Overall our stay was a wonderful Key West experience.

We have stayed here a few times before and have always enjoyed it. Our last stay was quite a few years ago, and it was sad to see the effects of aging this time around. The patio chairs in the pictures appear to be the same ones they had the first time we were here and they are in bad shape. One of them is in front of the house because it has broken which doesn't bode well for a first impression when arriving. Quite a few of the deck boards are cracked in the middle. They are still safe to walk on, it was just the appearance. We love this property. It holds so many memories for us. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Perfect location for walking in Key West. Easy walks to the Harbor for fresh seafood, Truman White House, Hemingway House and very close to Duval Street. Daily trip to Cuban Coffee Queen in Key Lime Square was great. The house is really two houses with living room, bath and Kitchen on one side of the pool and spa, 2 bedrooms and bath on opposite side. Pool was awesome at 95 degrees! Great to have onsite laundry as well. 2 smart TVs was nice. Very quiet and private- only crowing roosters to wake you as everywhere in KW! Perfect for our needs on this trip.

The house was perfect to spend 4 days in Key West with longtime friends. We rented bikes from down the street, the location was great, having the pool to hangout was amazing and the house overall was very comfortable.

Property is in a great location, just off Duvall street. Pool is great, except for the sawdust that blows in daily from construction next door. Very tight parking, even in the small driveway because of all the construction vehicles. We had a nice stay because of the location of the home.

Unfortunately, the pictures and price point do not accurately depict the condition & quality of this property. We expected moderately comfortable accommodations in good condition, well-located for walking to Duval and surrounding sites. The location was very good, but the home was in dire need of maintenance, with several items impacting the quality & value of our stay. Several bathroom fixtures were corroded, broken or missing entirely. The back door handles were not in good operational condition (and the sliding doors to the deck were all screwed shut, allowing only a single door for access). The grill was rusted through & uneven, with a broken handle & missing wheels. The decking in the pool area had significant structural rot, creating tripping hazards. The exterior doors to the bedrooms were missing seals entirely, leaving finger width gaps for mosquitos etc. Window units in the bedrooms were haphazardly installed, creating more visible gaps to the outside. There were also several odd factors that impact the overall comfort and appeal of the property. Nearly a dozen cabinets, drawers, closets etc are locked/screwed shut with a "Owner's property" label. There's an inaccessible loft with a pile of junk visible from the living room. The living room doesnt have comfortable seating for 4 adults & needs two very loud window units running at full power to keep temps down. The hot tub is oddly activated by a "bike pump" sticking 6in out the deck. Save your money & avoid.

Everything was great except the parking situation. However, this is not the property owners issue as there is clearly a drive / parking for this home. The issue is the neighbors, construction crew building a home next door. They blocked the drive/street making exiting and entering the space very difficult. Construction crew was noisy all day but we stayed out so wasn’t really an issue unless we were trying to get a little rest midday. Again, not the fault of property or property owner but just the nature of Key West! Overall this home was beautiful and uniquely designed. We had a great time!!

This place is centrally located amongst all the action key west has to offer. My wife and I walked everywhere. The pool is a great place to cool off during the day or at night when you get home. The air was ice cold and the beds were very comfortable. Communication with the owner was a breeze. I will definitely be booking this location again.

We all loved this place. Friends that stayed at a very nice hotel said they wish they rented this place. It just feels like home. Very neat and clean. The owner was very nice, always helpful and available. The pool and hot tub was very refreshing. The kitchen is nice and has all the utensils you need. I just can't say enough nice things about this home. Great location, everything you need is within walking distance and Duval is only a block away.

This was a great vacation home and the perfect place for a relaxing Key West getaway. The kitchen and main living space were comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the pool and patio area between the main house and guest rooms. The location offered everything we wanted. It was private yet within walking distance to all of the fun Key West attractions. David was a wonderful host and quickly responded to our questions. We would definitely come back. It was a perfect Key West vacation!

Location was excellent with only a couple minutes to Duval St. When Duval St was party city this place was a haven of peace and quiet. Having our own pool and spa was great for relaxation. We had a few short requests from the Host and he was prompt and helpful. While there are a few outside repairs that would enhance the property we would certainly return for another visit.

Visiting for the Key West Half-Marathon and chose this location for its access to Duval street and relative short walk to pretty much all the sightseeing snd shops. The host was very helpful and when walking was too much then there were plenty of scooter rentals or Uber/Lyft

We did enjoy our time in this house, it was in a quiet location but close to walk to everything. The house is dated but fun and comfortable. We weren't able to use the hot tub as we couldn't get the temperature to work. The host was very responsive at first, but it was never resolved. A bummer for such an expensive place in December. They were really great with flexible check-in and out timesOtherwise we loved the place and would consider staying again if there wasn't something else with the same location and amenities available.

My daughter, granddaughter, family friend and I stayed at this bungalow. The location is ideal for local restaurants, bars, shopping, grocery store and many local attractions such as The Hemingway House. Walkability is excellent which is good because once you park in the space provided, it is difficult to get out or back in because of congestion on that street. Beds were comfortable and very little outside noise other than early wakeup calls by the local roosters. Manager is readily available by phone and responds quickly to issues that might arise. Decor is dated but we came for Key West and didn't spend much time inside. Heater on the spa wasn't working properly but manager was addressing that issue. It was a great place to stay for a Key West adventure.

If you are looking to share a home with other adult couples or a family, this is a great place to stay, close to Duval. The property was very clean the pool and hot tub were wonderful the host responded quickly this is in a great location we had a wonderful time!!!

This was our 5th year in Key West. We try to stay at a different place each time and this is hands down our favorite. Very clean, and house was pretty. Close to Duval but quiet (except for some expected construction after the hurricane) and relaxing. Loved the separate bedrooms. Owner was nice and housekeeper/caretaker was wonderful! Would definitely recommend. Hoping we can stay there again in the future.

My 3 girlfriends and I reviewed many places before deciding on this colorful, clean, adorable home. Other positive reviews and the home’s unique layout are what ultimately sealed the deal. We stayed Thurs-Mon, in mid Aug, 2022. David, the owner, was very easy and pleasant to deal with. His cleaning crew was top notch. We enjoyed the distance from the front part of the house to the bedrooms and one bathroom. That way if someone was still up late, or awake early, the others could still sleep peacefully. It was lovely having our own private pool in between the two parts of the house. The only suggestions I would add is maybe add and update more photos of the home. Perhaps a few more lounge chairs by the pool would be nice, as there are only two. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted too, mostly about 20 minutes away. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Key West.

We were very happy with renting this property. The owner was very quick with answering my questions. The home was just what we needed. The pool was wonderful and surprisingly deeper than I was expecting. Even with being close to Duval St, the home felt private and comfortable.

This property is only one block of Duval in walking distance of all of the major sites/restuarants/bars in the downtown area. Ideal for visiting Key West. The window a/c in one of the bedrooms was not working and it was immediately taken care of for us, the only drawback being is that it was removed from the living room which made that area a little warm. Having a private pool was a big plus. The property is slightly outdated, but, overall, having the private pool and the location of the property were both great.
