About this condo rental
If your trip to Asheville includes both mountain and city adventures, then you will love this apartment! We are just 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway (191 entrance) and Bent Creek, and only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. We are close to the French Broad River as well, where fishing, tubing, and float trips are the perfect way to cool off on a summer day. Super quiet, awesome neighborhood. Very helpful and responsive hosts. Loved that it is so close to Bent Creek for mountain biking! Would stay here again!!

Very woodsy and private with all the amenities mentioned. Comfortable bed, spacious, and had everything we needed for our stay. Very near the Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina Arboretum, which is beautiful, and Lake Powhatan. 20 min. drive to Asheville, the Biltmore, or South to Mills Creek. It is a great location for getting to many different places, and we loved being out in the middle of the woods with no one else around. Although the apartment is connected to the house, it is very privately situated. The place is a gem!

Exactly as presented. Apartment is conveniently located on a beautiful street - nice for dog walking. I chose not to be out after sunset - quite dark and a tricky driveway down to the apartment.

Very clean and nice space. Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful location well hidden in deep forest yet only 10 minutes from stores and restaurants.!
Hosts accommodating and very friendly. They are quite active with biking, kayaking , etc and often gone all day - so if you need to reach them right away for something it may be several hours before they get your message.

This is an excellent location to explore the Biltmore and Asheville in general. Also very close to Blue Ridge Parkway. The property was perfect for us and our furry friend.
We could not imagine a better place to stay while in the area!

What a Gem!!!
I booked this on the fly on a busy evening, so don't remember what the description said. Based on the price, I guess I was expecting a basic apartment in an apartment complex (don't know why...). But, WOW! It wasn't that! This is a walk-out basement apartment of a big beautiful home (owned by friendly but not intrusive Bob and Cindy) on an absolutely gorgeous property in a quiet enclave just downslope from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is literally less than a mile from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the NC Arboretum (which is extraordinarily beautiful, too). The apartment itself is spacious, has very comfortable furniture (two big leather sofas), big round dining table, and TWO beds-- a VERY comfortable queen sized bed in a spacious private bedroom and a nice double bed in the main room. The bathroom is nice with a very spacious shower. Having a washer/dryer was also handy after accumulating a couple days' worth of sweaty and wet clothes from hiking and playing in waterfalls. The best part was watching a juvenile black bear saunter across the back yard one morning. Finally, this is conveniently close to downtown Asheville. We went to a concert at Salvage Station, and it was only a 17 minute drive home afterward. I wish I could rent this for the whole summer!

Bob and Cindy are excellent hosts - very helpful. The apartment is nice and quiet. It is located in a wooded area and very close to NC Arboretum and Blue Ridge Parkway. The oven in the apartment did not work - but, we could manage without it. Wish there was a dishwasher.

My husband and I stayed here for our 30th Anniversary trip to the North Carolina mountains. It’s a lovely 1BR apartment on a quiet property, but only 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I highly recommend it.

Everything was just right for our visit. The space was just right for us. The window shades on the bedroom windows let too much light in the room if you like to sleep in. There is lots of woods around and is very close to the arboretum, Bent Creek River and Powhatan Lake with lots of trails for hiking.

Overall, this is a comfortable, beautiful, private apartment at a very reasonable price given the easy access to all things Asheville. It was warm and raining the first morning of our stay, and we were able to sit outside under the covered patio quite nicely.
There were a few negatives that would keep us from returning though, but may not matter to others: Cellular connection was spotty at best inside the apartment. Text messages eventually got through. I imagine this lead to delayed communication with the hosts. Master bedroom did not have room darkening blinds in all windows so outdoor security lighting kept the room lit all night... And sunrise was directly in our head-on-pillow eyes. For someone sleeping in the full bed that is in the main room(kitchen/dining/living room) there are no window coverings at all. Although the area is very private with only woods in view from the apartment, as the crow flies it is close to the freeway, so it's fairly noisy sitting outside. We like having coffee outside in the mornings, but the patio gets the full morning sun, with no way to have shade until later in the morning. If it has been warmer out, we would have tried the provided patio umbrella to see if it could tilt low enough for shade, but that's iffy. Those are the main issues we had, that wouldn't be an issue for someone who normally sleeps with a light on, is up with the sun and doesn't mind traffic noise when relaxing outside in the afternoon and evening.
