About this cottage rental
Situated in Gardiner, this attractive cottage for $225 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Access to Yellowstone Park from our north entrance was fully restored October 30, 2022 with a beautiful new road! Our sweet backyard cottage is nestled among the fruit and flower trees of the yard. It is easily within walking distance to the grocery store, coffee, shopping, restaurants, laundromat, post office, and local arch park events. It is at the north entrance to Yellowstone Park, as is all of Gardiner. The cottage is in the heart of town but shielded from the main street by the owners' home. The yard is shared with the owners but privacy is afforded by the layout. The owners' home was built in 1930 and its cottage was built in 1940 by former owners, the Eastons. It is believed that their intent was to rent the cottage to visitors of Yellowstone, making it a very early vacation rental in this town. The cottage is a perfect fit for two people who want to day trip to northern Yellowstone, book local activities like rafting, biking, horseback riding, and return to a simple, basic, clean environment to relax. Our guests note that the well cultivated green and floral landscaping add to the charm and character of their experience. The stucco cottage still has the details of its early history with the old style glass door knobs and kitchen cabinets. There is a comfortable queen bed, sitting area with Smart tv, eating area, full but small kitchen, and full bathroom. It is clean, well cared for, and you are welcome! We keep our reservation calendar updated to the minute and our description on this page accurate. We really enjoyed our stay. Eleanor has xtra things throughout the space to ensure comfort. The only thing was I thought we were supposed to get off season pricing. Although I haven’t followed through and that’s on me. I know she is not out to scam anyone. I would highly recommend staying here! She has thought of everything that you might need. Just an amazing setting within minutes of the Northgate to Yellowstone. The cottage was equipped with everything you need, I mean everything ! So neat & clean, the outside sitting area / Flower garden was so perfect what a green thumb. And wildlife to boot birds, rabbits, the passing Elk& mule deer outside the fence ! I will be back ! We cannot say enough about this little “oasis”. The owners have thought of everything, every detail. Their Yellowstone file was a big plus to the information we had researched. After our long days visiting the wonders of the park, it was so relaxing to come back, sit in the garden, and listen to the birds. The "Lilac Cottage" was the perfect get away and just minutes away from YNP. Beautifully crafted inside and out, Eleanor & Tom's hidden gem provided us everything we could ever need inside along with a beautiful garden outside to sit enjoy our morning coffee and cocktails at sunset. Can’t say enough compliments about the property, as well as the owners, the Stones. The cottage is spotless, and is completely equipped to be a home away from home. The cozy and private yard is beautifully landscaped and is the perfect spot to sit and chill with a glass of wine after a long day in the Park. We have been staying here for several years now, and will be returning next year.

Our stay was great. Everything was provided to make our stay enjoyable. The garden is very nice to sit in and relax. My wife fell in love with the Lilacs and was very sad to find out they dont do very well in Texas. I guess that means we will have to book the cottage every time we come to Yellowstone so she can enjoy them.

It worked out ideally for our visit to Yellowstone, so close to the North Entrance. Cottage is spotless, with everything you need. Eleanor and Tom were the perfect hosts and very helpful. It is right in town, but still very quiet and private. First time using Vrbo, and it was great! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Upon arriving at the Lilac Cottage, our host greeted us and provided a warm welcome and some great info. That was the last time we saw them as they afforded us total privacy.
Our hosts were thoughtful in what was provided at the cottage and I can honestly say, there was nothing we needed that was not provided.
The cottage itself was spotless! Plenty of dishes and cookware. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom towels were new and soft. In that the cottage is a smaller place, I did do a bit of rearranging so we could watch TV in bed. Other than that, I’d say it’s perfect.
The location couldn’t have been better. Gardener is an interesting small town right at the North entrance to the park. Across the street is the Tumbleweed, a coffee house serving breakfast and lunch. Sooo good. We also found the Wonderland Cafe to have a great menu and wonderful food!
For Two people, the housing, location and amenities were perfect! Thank you for such a great place!

Tom and Eleanor were wonderful. We were there during the historic flooding of YNP and Gardiner and they went out of their way to help us as we extended our stay in their homey Lilac Cottage. It was an oasis during unprecedented times. We are forever grateful for having them as our hosts.

The property is exactly as advertised. Awesome location close to Yellowstone. This is the cleanest VRBO rental we have ever visited. The owners are wonderful people and have included every thing you would need for your stay. It is a great place to rent while you spend your time visiting Yellowstone Park.

The cottage is exactly as described online. It’s small but has everything my husband and I needed (and more) for our short stay. It was great to have a kitchen, as once we got into Yellowstone the dining options were very limited. Eleanor was available when we went to ask her questions but never came to us. For us it was a short but great experience.

Enchanted Cottage
The best vacation rental ever! Eleanor and Tom are fabulous hosts. The cottage was so well equipped that we wanted for nothing. We had a minor health scare and Tom’s advice to go to the Mammoth Clinic was spot on. Wonderful experience overall.
