The Beaver Hill Cottage was a fantastic release from the everyday. In a beautifully secluded part of Front Royal, the cottage offers every amenity necessary to enjoy a relaxing stay, from a fully equipped kitchen to the hot tub. The owners were fantastic communicators, keeping us in mind when snow came through the area twice, advising us to park at the top of the driveway. We also visited three wineries while in the area. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is the place to unwind.

We had a great time at Beaver Hill Cottage. My wife and I enjoyed the peace and quiet and being surrounded by the woods - watching the deer walk by and lounging in the hot tub. We had a GREAT time at The Natural Connection (https://www.thenaturalconnectioninc.com/), riding the beautiful trails on horseback with Jean French. Together, we took in a couple of nearby hikes, loved Spelunkers for burgers and shakes, and visited the VA State Arboretum for a fun dog walk. We highly recommend this cottage. The owners keep a beautiful cottage and were very responsive when we had questions. 5 Stars!

Had a wonderful, quiet, restful stay. I relished the privacy; enjoyed the hot tub. Hosts were very helpful and proactive: emailed to check on me when it snowed. Would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Beaver Cottage is a very nice house on a stunningly beautiful property. The mountain setting was particularly impressive with the vibrant fall colors. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and the deck to watch the wildlife. A couple of small deer were frequent visitors.
The house itself was perfect for cozy evenings. We cooked in for several meals and there were adequate pans and utensils. The host left a complimentary bottle of wine which was a very nice extra. My sisters and I would definitely return!

Many rules and restrictions added 24 hours prior to check in. These not listed when booking. Dishwasher rule was most surprising and disappointing. Hot tub towels recommend to bring didn’t get that til day before check in. Already on trip so not able to bring own.

We had a lovely stay. It is a beautiful location. The house was very clean and hd everything we needed.

If you are looking for a getaway that is secluded....this is the right place. There are plenty of other houses nearby in the mountainside neighborhood association, but in the early September green forest, we could not see them. And the only other beings we encountered were a family of deer that hang close to the house. Plenty of quiet available, but only a few minutes away from food and activities. Wifi and entertainment connectivity was great.

The house was super cute- just like the pictures! Small, but space enough for 3 friends to relax. It was close to tons of wineries, however, the road was really windy to get anywhere, and the driveway super steep (even with all wheel drive, the driveway felt steep after rain!). However, once we were off the “mountain”, we were so close to so many neat places- and even in good proximity to Front Royal, which has target/Walmart/starbucks.
The common areas were super clean, and there were little touches - like a host gift, sealed soaps/sponges, towels, and sheets- that added to the comfort of our stay!
The host was quick to communicate, and answered questions/comments cordially- it was a pleasure to work with them!
The only downside was the hot tub cover- which was inflatable, and therefore extremely heavy. It took all 3 of us to get the cover on/off, which meant it wasn’t easy if only one of us wanted to take a dip! We only used the hot tub once because of this, which was disappointing, as that was definitely on our must-have list for a vacation home.
All in all, we had a wonderful, comfortable stay, and would recommend to anyone looking for a cute, well-maintained, and affordable stay in a great area!

My wife and I enjoyed this very nice cottage with our dogs for a long weekend. Everything was perfect for our visit and the owners are so nice and a pleasure to deal with. We enjoyed grilling on the well kept BBQ and sitting out on the back deck enjoying the abundance of nature and the beautiful sunsets. There is plenty to do in the area and Front Royal was a quick trip down the mountain, where we did a morning tour of Skyline Caverns, lunch at the Apple House and some wine tasting at Fox Meadow Vineyard right down the road, which has some spectacular Mountain View’s. The home has a very large hot tub but we never found time to use it, maybe on another visit during cooler weather.

Our girls’ trip was wonderful at the cabin! We are a bit of a neat freak group, and the house was extremely clean and very well kept! The beds were super comfy, clean, and the bedding was like butter! We enjoyed the beautiful sunny mornings on the deck, and quiet comfy evenings under the stars. We LOVED the spacious hot tub (which was crystal clear and very comfortable) so much! We enjoyed watching a scary movie on the smart tv, and we’re able to cook our favorite meals and desserts in the tiny kitchen that had everything we needed! The AC works almost TOO well, but it was a nice relief after being out in the heat at some local wineries. We enjoyed using the gift card left for us by our hosts. Would most definitely stay here again!

This is a nice place and was clean. I thought we would have more yard (in the listing there appears to be more yard than actually is there), and the driveway was difficult for us to maneuver. There had been some rain and that may have been the issue with getting up the drive.

This is a beautifully constructed home. Everything is in nice working condition and is as promised. Nice furniture in the living room. Beautiful wooded area for birdwatching or wildlife watching. We saw a deer from the house and foxes and coyotes nearby.

The property is gorgeous and i loved the fact that the front porch had shelter from the rain as i loved being outside in nature. Although the roads are gravel and challenging to some degree, the location is perfect to Front Royal, wineries, and more. The only drawback would be the hot tub for one guest. The cover is very challenging to open by just one person as it is puffy and heavy and kept dropping in the hot tub getting wet so i couldn’t open it fully and only used it once. It is also located under the deck, so no open sky. I also saw a huge woodpecker which was awesome! Great vacation!!

My sister and I were here with our husbands for a five day getaway and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit at this cabin. The cabin is warm and inviting and stocked very well. Everything was very clean and tidy.
Thank you so much for the complementary wine, we definitely enjoyed that. Thank you for creating such a lovely place to visit for much needed rest and relaxation.

Nice property. Nicely appointed. A little remote but the views were great!

This cabin is beautiful and impeccably clean. The scenery is gorgeous and the cabin is relaxing and comfortable. I definitely recommend staying here. It is on mountain roads, which is a lot different than the flat midwest, where I am from. But I had no trouble driving my Subaru Outback all over the mountain and felt like a real pro after a day or so. There is also a wonderful winery Fox Meadow very close. This is definitely a five star cabin.

We wanted a quiet retreat for our first ever trip without the kids. This place was perfect! We enjoyed the hot tub and just relaxing in the living room. We did some cooking and the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. It was so nice that soap, paper towels, linens/towels were all included so we didn't have to make a trip somewhere to buy anything. We would've loved to check out some of the trails nearby, but the weather was a bit rainy while we were there. It just gave us an excuse to curl up and relax, and an excuse to come back again sometime! Thanks so much!

We loved the place. It was so sweet that Rachelle and Dan left a bottle of wine and treats for the dogs. The location is perfect to hike and close to a nice winery, but it is still incredible remote and nice to be on the mountain. The hot tub is super large so plenty of room to spread out. Everything was awesome!

Perfect getaway for a girl's weekend and relaxation time. We went to a couple of wineries and enjoyed each other's company. We'd love to come back in the fall with all the trees and colorful view.

Our stay was lovely, watching the sundown and having a great time in quiet place. Everything was in order and clean. It deserves more than 5 stars!!
We are looking forward for our next trip! 😊
Thanks to Rachelle & Don for the hospitality and all the help!

This property is exactly as advertised! Check in was simple. We appreciated the welcome bottle of wine and the bowl of treats for our Labrador. The cabin is modern, immaculate and well equipped. The entertainment system was very nice. The hot tub was marvelous. We enjoyed the wood stove in the evenings, but do note that you must supply your firewood. It is a 15 minute drive into Front Royal and 35 minutes to Winchester. Hiking is everywhere. Fox Meadow winery is 5 minutes away and worth the visit. Just a note on navigation: Our GPS had no trouble leading us to the address from any of the directions from which we approached. I did find the route on Freezeland Road (Rt. 638) off of Rt 55 the easiest option. I’d shoot for a daylight arrival as the first approach will be more challenging in the dark.

Our dear friends that we have known for 35 years joined us for a few days at the lovely house in the mountains. We may be in our “ golden”years, but we still had a great time at the beautiful home and wineries near by. A visit to remember!!

We really enjoyed the cabin and surrounding area - loved Rappahannock Cellars winery. Looking forward to returning soon.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay at this cottage. First off, Rachelle and Don were communicative, accommodating, and flexible. The cottage is beautiful and so cozy. It has three bedrooms with queen beds, so it’s perfect for an all-couples, kid-free trip. The house is clean and so organized. Shoutout to whoever labeled all the kitchen cabinets. I’d come back here again in a heartbeat.

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. We live in northern VA so it was nearby, but still felt so far away from home. The cabin is very clean, we loved the layout for our family of 2 adults and one college student. The dining room table was perfect for us to spread out and play board games. We all love hot tubs and when we've stayed in this area before (Luray / Linden / Front Royal, etc..) we always find a house with a hot tub. This hot tub was super super clean... it was a big hot tub and worked perfectly. We took an afternoon walk in Front Royal at a local park and explored the quaint downtown. We cooked several meals while at the cabin. The kitchen was clean and stocked very well with cookware, etc.. It was a perfect place to getaway for a few days. We plan on returning in the fall! Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Home away from home. Warm and cozy. Great place to spend quality time together. Taken away with the bright stars in evening sky. Hosts kept us well info on weather issue.

What a fantastic mountain home. It is tucked away in the mountains yet just minutes from wineries and trails. We arrived to find a complementary bottle of wine from a local winery (such a kind gesture and lovely surprise). The home is beautiful, spacious, and very clean. The real fireplace and bird watching opportunities were pluses as well. My husband captured a great photo of a woodpecker nearby. We will definitely be back and recommend this home without hesitation!

We enjoyed our five-night stay at Beavers Hill Cottage and recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil location. Everything was just as depicted in the listing photos, spotlessly clean, and communication with Rachelle and Don was excellent. We appreciated the welcome bottle of wine from the winery just down the road and the biscuits for our dog! The kitchen was very well-equipped and we had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. The drive up the mountain and down the gravel road was well worth it!

This was a very nice private spot for us to get away - definitely off the beaten path, which we loved, but not very long drive to Skyline drive, which we took in. House is comfortable and has a nice kitchen.

We had a great weekend at Beavers Hill Cottage. We were looking for a quiet getaway and we sure found it. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful long weekend. The owners were very quick to answer any questions and the directions were spot on. After a little hiking the hot tub felt great! Thank you for sharing your amazing cottage with us. I’m sure we will be coming back in the future.

Very nice and clean home in the woods. Has everything you need in the home. You are in the mountains so the road/driveway to the house is narrow. Plenty of wineries around to visit.

My husband and I spent a few days here for our 22nd anniversary. The cabin is well kept and very clean. After looking at land in WV and shopping in DC it was great to get back and enjoy the hot tub and just relax.
