Tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life, is a quiet ''Carriage House'' apartment located just a few miles outside the quaint little Village of Intercourse, PA. Many Lancaster County attractions are nearby: Kitchen Kettle, Strasburg Railroad, Dutch Wonderland, Amish Quilt Shops, Rockvale and Tanger Outlet Malls, Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre, Shady Maple Restaurant/Smorgasboard and other Restaurants with Amish Cooking, Buggy Rides, Hot Air Balloon Rides. Originally the Carriage House was an out-building which has been newly-transformed into a charming apartment with spacious high ceilings and cozy decor. It includes a flat-screen TV/DVD, an electric fireplace, comfortable seating area, dining table and kitchenette (sink/refrigerator/microwave/coffee maker.) A separate bedroom includes a painted armoire and a soft-as-a-cloud down comforter. The spacious yard features a large gazebo, perfect for picnics, and you are invited to stroll through perennial gardens bursting with color in the summer, or relax in the hammock. My husband and I live on the same 2-acre property as the guest suite, as do our neighbors who rent the house next door. Sometimes there are children playing outdoors or other family-related activities happening on the premises, but the Carriage House is in it's own space, and very private.

We had a peaceful weekend at this cozy carriage house. There are many extras in the home. Check in and check out was easy. We enjoyed driving around town and shopping at local stores. The weather was chilly so it was nice to sit by the fireplace and read a book after our adventures out. Thank you, Fan!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this wonderful cottage. I was looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat from the daily grind and this was the perfect choice. I read by the fireplace, caught up on my favorite shows (using my Amazon Firestick which worked perfectly); and spent long lazy mornings sipping my coffee and watching the beautiful farmlands. The cottage was spacious and well equipped. It was beautifully decorated and had comfortable furniture. I cooked pleasant, small meals in the kitchenette. The bed was super comfy and warm. There is plenty of easy parking. The area is quiet and yet minutes away from all the popular shopping and dining areas. Highly recommend this wonderful cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Carriage House! It was very clean and just an absolute delightful place to stay. Very well equipped with everything we needed. There was even shampoo and conditioner in the shower which was great since I forgot mine. The owners were gone on vacation the week we were there, but we met their daughter who was very kind and friendly. We have nothing negative at all to say about our experience there. It was GREAT!! When I first arrived I was a bit surprised to see how close everything was, however, this is NOT an issue. The property is quiet. We didn't intend to but we spent so much time on the property just enjoying the sound of the wind and the calming feel under the raised patio. One evening we just sat there in the dark listening to the sounds of the horses galloping with the buggy. My husband didn't like that the bed is a Queen bed, but that's just his quirk because we have a king bed at home. A tip to anyone who sweats in their sleep like me, leave the bedroom door open. The apartment was very clean and felt very homey. When choosing VRBO remember, this is NOT a hotel. This was exactly what we were looking for and we will return. Oh yea, THE BREAD IS AMAZING!

We stayed here during our annual trip to the area for shopping for fabric and antiques. The carriage house was the perfect place to relax at the end of each day. We will definitely be back in the future.

Convenient to so many places, stores and restaurants. The place was very clean and so comfortable. There was also a little treat of Amish friendship bread left for us. Communication with the owner was great! I highly recommend The Carriage House.

The carriage house was extremely comfortable and the decor just added to the cozy. Nicely decorated and well stocked. Added touches were a small loaf of banana bread and coffee from the owners Corner Coffee Shop. Appreciate having a coffee maker instead of a Kuerig. Very clean! Comfortable bed and really nice beddings

My husband and I loved staying here, the place was amazing and the decor was awesome. It was a short drive away from buggy rides and kitchen kettle village. We loved meeting the Golden retriever, Riley and would definitely come again.

We thought is was beautifully decorated and very clean. It is in need of some ceiling repair, but we had a pleasant stay. We would have liked to have been able to enjoy the outside seating, but it was extremely weathered. Our host "Fan" was extremely pleasant to talk with and we hope to return for another stay.

This is a gem of a property. The suite is very private and spacious, immaculately clean, elegantly decorated and equipped with every amenity that guests may need to feel at home away from home. Fan, the property manager, is most welcoming and friendly, and shows, through her meticulous attention to detail, how much she cares about the comfort of her visitors. The Carriage House sits on beautifully maintained grounds, where mature trees and many flower islands frame a large gazebo and other guest suites. It was a delightful stay. This property will be on my list of favorites for future trips in the area.

The Carriage House was perfect for our weekend get-away! It was extremely clean and provided everything we needed, including extra toiletries in case we forgot anything. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the linens felt so cozy. We would absolutely stay here again!

The carriage house was beautifully decorated and roomy. There was a damp odor in the unit that we disliked. We spent some time on the deck and in the gazebo in the back yard. The dogs were friendly but be careful where you walk in the yard. Overall a nice relaxing short getaway at a great location.

The Carriage House exceeded our expectations. It was roomy, well-stocked, comfortable, clean and conveniently located. It is on a rural property, in the middle of Amish Country, away from the noise & congestion of the malls. However, there is quick access to both Route 30 and Route 340 for quick travel to the many attractions in the area. The host (Fan) was very accessible and answered all inquiries promptly. We lived in this area for 40 years, and this place made us feel like we were home. We will definitely stay here when we visit the area again.
